Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. (Munsch Hardt) is pleased to announce well-known former Dallas councilwoman and attorney Angela Hunt will join the firm as Shareholder in its Dallas office on May 1. Hunt, in conjunction with the firm’s prominent Real Estate section, will play an instrumental role in launching a Zoning and Land Use practice for the firm.

“For several years we have been contemplating adding a Shareholder with sophisticated Zoning and Land Use experience, but we wanted to make sure we built this practice with the right person,” said Phil Appenzeller, CEO of Munsch Hardt. “Angela’s unique background in real estate law and politics, coupled with her reputation for being transparent, accountable and fiscally responsible, makes her an ideal fit for our firm and for our clients. We are honored Angela chose Munsch Hardt.”

Formerly with Farrow-Gillespie & Heath, Hunt advises clients on a broad range of local governmental issues, including complex land use and zoning matters, economic development incentives, as well as general governmental relations, consulting and advocacy. Additionally, Hunt brings with her powerful connections in both government and the private sector; a nod to her involvement as a former City Council member who served four terms from 2005-2013, only stepping down due to term restraints.

Using creative zone tools, she led the effort to revitalize the deteriorating Lower Greenville area into a thriving neighborhood retail district. She also was responsible for the creation of the Trinity Skyline Trail, a transformational 4.6 mile concrete bike path along Dallas’ Trinity River that is reshaping the city’s relationship to its most under-utilized natural asset.

“Munsch Hardt offers one of the largest and strongest real estate practice in Texas, which makes it exciting for me as we look ahead to the challenges and opportunities that come with building out a new practice for the firm,” said Hunt. “I am, and always have been, very proud of our thriving city. I hope to continue making a positive economic impact in my new role at Munsch Hardt.”

Hunt received her Juris Doctorate from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University.
