From his experience working in government and at an international law firm, Randall provides a unique perspective in advising clients on complex disputes at the trial and appellate levels. He has obtained successful outcomes at all stages of litigation for a wide range of clients, including state agencies, universities and Fortune 500 companies. His litigation experience covers a variety of subject areas, including antitrust, employment, energy, contract, tort and constitutional law.
Since joining Munsch, Randall defeated a putative consumer class action on behalf of a Fortune 100 company and won multiple appeals. In addition to serving as lead appellate counsel on merits briefing, Randall also has an active amicus practice. Since 2024, he has served as counsel of record for amici at the Supreme Court of the United States, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Texas—filing briefs for United States Senators, States, religious organizations, trade associations and others.
Randall previously served as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas where he defended state officials, universities and governmental entities in state and federal court. Randall also served on the Texas team of a multistate coalition that sued the federal government over disputes related to taxes and health care.
Immediately prior to joining Munsch Hardt, Randall was a partner at one of the world’s most elite law firms. In this role, Randall served as appellate counsel and class action defense counsel for clients facing complex and high-exposure lawsuits. Some of these cases included claims sounding in antitrust, consumer protection and contract.
Randall had the honor of serving as the first law clerk to both Judge Lawrence VanDyke on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Through these experiences, Randall became intimately familiar with the inner workings of these courts.
