Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. (Munsch Hardt) is pleased to announce that earlier this week Litigation Shareholder D. Ronald “Ron” Reneker marked his 50th year practicing law. Throughout his career, Reneker has focused his practice on complex business litigation, having represented clients on both sides of the docket, tried numerous jury and non-jury cases to verdict and handled many appeals.
Dedicated to being a “lawyer’s lawyer”, he continues to represent lawyers and law firms in matters relating to professional liability, as well as law firm withdrawals and dissolutions. He also serves as an expert witness in legal malpractice cases. Another significant area of practice for him includes insurance coverage litigation, representing both carriers and policyholders. Finally, and most notably, Reneker is a trained mediator and a highly-regarded arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
Prior to joining Munsch Hardt in 2007, Reneker was a Partner at Craddock Reneker & Davis LLP from 1995-2006, a Shareholder at Bird & Reneker PC from 1982-1994, a Shareholder at Geary, Stahl & Spencer PC from 1975-1982, and an Associate with Geary, Brice, Barron & Stahl from 1971-1974.
“For the past 50 years Ron has dedicated his time and talent to representing and tirelessly defending his clients,” said Phil Appenzeller, CEO of Munsch Hardt. “His legal acumen, integrity and compassion are unparalleled, and we are deeply honored to have him on our team.”
Reneker received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tulsa in 1968, where he received a number of academic and leadership awards and became a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, an organization in which he is still heavily involved as an alumnus. He received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1971, where he was an Associate Editor of Texas Law Review, graduated with honors, and was inducted into The Order of the Coif. Reneker is a Life Fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation and has been consistently named by his peers to the Texas Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America lists for his accomplishments in Business Litigation.
Reneker has been married to his wife Catherine for more than 43 years, and they have a daughter and a son together. When not practicing law, he enjoys traveling and relaxing at his place on the Texas coast.
