(HOUSTON) Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. (Munsch Hardt), a leading regional law firm, is nearly doubling its space in Houston at the iconic Pennzoil Place. The Firm, which relocated to the office tower in 2012 and expanded its footprint in both 2014 and 2018, is expanding yet again from 21,382 square feet to 40,833 square feet across two full floors.
Stream Realty Partners assisted Munsch Hardt with the office agreement, global architecture and design firm Gensler designed the Firm’s offices, and Miller LaPoint served as the General Contractor on the project. The space includes 80 attorney offices, an internal stairwell between the two floors, state-of-the-art technology, including Zoom rooms; a “work café” to facilitate collaboration, complete with an indoor putting green; glass doors and walls to allow natural light to permeate the entire office; drop seals on doors and interior walls to the deck to provide soundproof workspaces; automatic standing desks in all offices; flexible conference rooms to accommodate any size meeting or event; and a bar for social activities.
“Our sustained growth in Houston is evidence we are seeing the fulfillment of our strategic plan,” said Phil C. Appenzeller, Jr., CEO of Munsch Hardt. “And, in today’s market of continued law firm consolidation, Munsch Hardt, instead, intends to deepen its roots and grow strategically.”
When Appenzeller took over as CEO in January 2014, the Firm included 109 attorneys, 17 of which were in Houston. Since that time, Munsch Hardt’s Houston office has seen the addition of Chambers ranked health care and construction practice groups; noteworthy litigation, bankruptcy and corporate attorneys; and the merger with Harrison Bettis McFarland LLP. Today, the Firm’s Houston office boasts nearly 50 attorneys, including 15 women and 6 diverse attorneys.
“The excitement about our new Houston office space is infectious. We are thriving in all practice areas, and this new, bright, and connected space will help promote the friendly, hard-working environment that we work so hard to maintain,” stated John D. Cornwell, Managing Shareholder of the Houston Office. “As Houston and, generally, Texas markets continue to grow, we look forward to adding more top talent into our unique culture in order to exceed client expectations. It is a great time to be at Munsch Hardt.”
