Munsch Hardt secured an impressive international arbitration win for Drilltech, a Houston-based oil field equipment supplier. The litigation team, led by Houston Litigation Shareholder Todd Frank, obtained an award of $1.1MM in damages and fees and an order returning $1MM+ of tools held hostage in Ecuador.

The team faced the uniquely difficult task of suing, serving and trying the case against two foreign individuals, a foreign entity and a local entity. Todd made the strategic decision to sue the entities in the United States District Court of the Southern District of Texas, which resulted in the order compelling the case to arbitration. The arbitration was conducted in three countries via Zoom and in two languages. Following arbitration the award was confirmed and Munsch Hardt is now involved in the recovery and criminal proceedings.
