(DALLAS and HOUSTON) Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C. (Munsch Hardt) recently announced the hiring of David R. Roth as a Shareholder in its Houston office. Roth primarily focuses his practice on the energy industry, where he has a successful track record of representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, project management, financing and debt-equity projects. Roth also brings experience in the area of data privacy.
“Part of Munsch Hardt’s strategic plan for Houston was to attract a top-tier corporate attorney with an emphasis on the energy sector, complementing our well-respected energy litigation practice,” said Phil Appenzeller, CEO of Munsch Hardt. “David fits this description perfectly. He is a highly experienced transactional attorney with expertise serving industry players, management teams and private equity firms. Despite these uncertain times, David is already proving to be a significant addition to the Firm, and I am confident he will be a strong resource for clients.”
Roth’s clientele includes leading members of the energy industry involved in onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration and production, transportation and pipelines, natural gas processing and transportation and ancillary services such as equipment supply and seismic analysis.
“I was drawn to Munsch Hardt for a variety of reasons including its entrepreneurial business approach, attorneys and strong reputation when it comes to oil and gas matters,” commented Roth. “In addition, Munsch Hardt offers me the opportunity to be a part of a larger platform while still staying within a reasonable rate structure. I am very much looking forward to collaborating with the energy, corporate and restructuring teams as we look to expand our oil and gas transactional and private equity capabilities.”
Having served as General Counsel at private equity-backed Northern Star Generation and Assistant General Counsel of the financial and corporate transactions legal group at Dynegy, Roth brings more than a decade of in-house experience to his client relationships. Most recently Roth was a Partner in Bradley’s Houston office.
Roth earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He’s licensed to practice in both Texas and California and is a member of the Energy Bar Association.
