Firm clients Justin and Linzi Leighton were sued by West Houston Luxury Imports for breach of contract concerning the sales tax on a vehicle traded to West Houston. The Firm tried the case and obtained a jury verdict in the Leighton’s favor. West Houston Luxury Imports appealed, asserting the court erred in the jury charge, the evidence was insufficient to support the jury verdict and the court mistakenly admitted certain evidence. The Fourteenth Court of Appeals affirmed the judgment in favor of the Leightons. Dick Schwartz led and tried this case with the help of Randall Miller who drafted the appellate brief.
