Munsch Hardt recently recruited Adam J. Richie as an attorney in the Construction and Litigation sections. Richie, who is now resident in the firm’s Austin office, is also a Professional Engineer and LEED accredited professional.
“Adam’s knowledge in engineering adds an important skill set for our construction and real estate groups. Adam’s skills will be invaluable for the firm’s clients in both developing complex design contracts for commercial projects and when representing construction clients in sophisticated litigation matters,” said Phil Appenzeller, CEO of Munsch Hardt. “Adam has already made a great impact in the Austin office as we continue to expand our local presence, and we look forward to seeing his practice grow throughout the firm.”
Having practiced as a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager for almost 10 years at a consulting engineering firm in Houston before attending law school, Richie provides a practical understanding of the operational challenges that engineering, construction and environmental companies encounter. In his legal practice, he regularly drafts and negotiates complex design and construction contracts for commercial projects, with a focus on evaluating insurance coverage issues. Richie represents owners (public and private), general contractors, subcontractors and design professionals in numerous lawsuits and disputes, allowing his clients to benefit greatly from his extensive background in engineering and construction.
“Munsch Hardt’s Construction practice has become more and more impressive over the years. With lead shareholders such as Tom Barber, Ben Wheatley and Greg Noschese, the firm contains a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to representing major players in the construction industry,” Richie said. “I look forward to leveraging my background and experience to provide a well-rounded perspective on construction matters for clients in Austin and throughout Texas.”
Richie joined Munsch Hardt from the San Antonio office of Coats Rose, and was named a 2016 Best Lawyer for Construction Law by SA Scene Magazine. He received his Juris Doctorate from Houston College of Law and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston-Downtown.
